Unison Group was established at Taipei in 1980, at first, it was a Panama company named as “Nanyang Navigation Corporation”. In the inception of our association in the 80’s, when Taiwan’s manufacturing industry of imported timbers was at the peak of the boom, Nanyang Navigation rose up as an owner of the pure log carrier, M/V Tung Shong, transporting timbers from South East Asia to Taiwan. After Taiwan had made the significant economic leap forward, many industries underwent transformation. In order to respond to the new demand of the vigorous market, Unison Group had acted positively in expanding the numbers of fleets of bulk carrier and log carrier. Furthermore, "Unison Navigation Corporation" was also established in Taipei in order to dedicate to diversified range of international marine management services besides the role of a ship owner. After decades, owing to more and more new marine regulations and required certificates, marine management becomes diverse and complicated. In order to focus on marine management service and achieve effective management, in 1995, the marine management service was officially independent from the fleet ownership; Unison Navigation Corporation was renamed Unison Marine Corporation consequently to be a purely professional marine management and agency company, which manages all fleets of Unison group. The capital of Unison Marine Corp is NT 28 million and the capital of fleet ownership under Our management is about NT 600 million. |
